Have you ever built your own boat and then set sail in it?

What if we told you that it’s possible! Unbelievable? But it’s true.

Welcome to Pomegranate’s River Ecology Workshops in Goa!

Discover a whole new side to Goa, something that will have you coming back for more and make you an active participant in conserving one of India’s most precious ecosystems.

Riverside Adventures begin at our riverside campsite. We approach it via the historic Ponte de Linhares, one of the longest riverside causeways in the world, flanked by the majestic Mandovi river on one side and salt pans on the other.

The campsite, based on eco-friendly principles, is set within the mangrove ecosystem. Across the river is the Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary and mangrove river islands. We set to work here on the grassy banks under shady trees.

First Schedule

26th Dec - Day 1

Boat making @ Riverside Campsite
Using recycled materials like barrels and beams we shall make our own boats and row out into the waters. This is real adventure, while giving you a much closer experience of nature than provided by any commercial operator. You shall be guided by experienced hands and we shall ensure complete safety.

27th Dec - Day 2

Mangrove Walk and Artistic Journal Making

Walking through the enchanting mangroves along the ‘bunds’ one can spot interesting birds and amazing creatures like crabs, otters, mudskippers and the occasional crocodile! At the end of the walk we capture our experiences in an artistic journal. You shall be guided by facilitators in ecology, nature interpretation and visual storytelling.

28th Dec - Day 3

Beach Ecology Walk and Shell & Sand Sculpture Making
On the lesser known beaches on the river bay we can discover multitudes of shells and small creatures that make up the beach ecology. After a beach walk we assemble shells and sand into artistic sculptures. You shall be guided by facilitators on beach ecology and art assemblage.
