World Peace Day – September 21

The Pomegranate Magic Reading Room picked the text, ‘What does Peace Feel Like?’ by V Radunsky and conducted a small activity around it with grade three. The children were asked what peace ‘looks, feels, sounds, smells and tastes like’ to them. This is a little bit of what the children came up with -

____

Peace smells like tulips. Peace looks like a bird. When I touch my mom’s hand I feel peaceful. Peace makes me happy.

According to me peace can be nice after a lot of work. But if it is for too long, it gets boring. I feel peaceful when I smell Alpenliebe lollipops (strawberry flavour). I feel peaceful looking at the pool in my building.

Peace feels like I am jumping from high up (30 feet). Peace feels like water when air blows hard. Peace gives me different smells.

Birds chirping and a sea shore sound make me feel peaceful. When I see a new born baby I feel peaceful and when I shut my eyes I feel peaceful. When I eat a doughnut I feel peaceful. When I touch my blanket and it touches me I feel peaceful.

Peace smells like hot things.

Soft sounds make me feel peaceful. When I see the sky I feel peaceful. When I drink milk it makes me feel peaceful. When I read a book it makes me feel peaceful. When I smell like a flower I feel peaceful.
